Is the another heat sheild on the gas tank after the catalytic converter?

My wife said a piece of metal fell off the van. I had heard some rattling before and suspected a loose heat shield. Well now something has fallen off and I don't know what as she decided not to stop for it. After looking underneath I think there may be a shield missing that would be between the muffler and the. Gas tank. There is one between the catalytic converter and the gas tank. Any ideas if there should be one there too ?

yes! There should be one in between the muffler and the under body..you should take it to a shop and have them look since we can only assume what might of fell of your car..plus what ever hit ur car could have done more then just that..
