My 1999 Nissan Altima was stolen about a month ago and I just got the money.
Well I want to get another car now.
I don't have much to spend since I am a student right now.My dad told me that I should avoid domestic cars because they give alot of problems. He wants me to get a camry or another altima and I would,I think they are awesome cars but I was browsing around on kijiji and i was thinking why pay like 3 to 4 grand for a 10+ year old camry when I can get like an 03 or 04 grand am for the same price?

Grand Ams are very reliable in my opinion. If you are going for a Grand Am try to get a GT model instead of an SE. GT models include the Ram Air feature. If not, the SE will suit just fine. I own a Grand Am GT1 2000 and i have had no problems with it whatsoever. Gets about 20 MPG! The car currently has 114,000 miles on it. Still works flawlessly besides an antifreeze leak. I would recommend the Grand Am over the Toyota Camry. Thats my view on it. Good luck!

I agree grand ams are great cars..no car is JUNK..it just depends on how well the car was taken care of..but get a grand am with a 2.4..great gas and they can go for over 260.000 miles..you just need to take care of it

My first car was a grand am. I bought it with 147xxx miles on it, nd after my ex boyfriend intentionally blew the motor two years later, it had 215xxx miles on it. I put that car through so much, nd it later. A few years later, I bought another one 2 months ago, I've already put over 10k miles on it. They are tough cars. Gotta love em :)
