It unlocks, no lock

2001 grand am 2 Dr coupe

Door lock button will only unlock doors. Lock buttons will not lock doors - driver or passenger door button. Replaced with new lock button no change , swapped button over to passenger side, no change.

Keylesss e try remote will lock and unlock both doors.
Thoughts ideas?

You need a wiring diagram. The switch may send a signal to the body control module but that's why you need the diagram.
