Join due to fire

Hi: I have recently joined due to the fact our son's 1999 Grand Prix was consumed in fire in minutes for no reason. It has been devastating and GM won't do anything about it. I don't understand how a car can just start on fire and be totally gone in minutes.

I found this web site very informative and look forward to reading the new posts. Great site.

That really sucks! But there has to be a reason. Faulty wiring, fuel leaking on a hot surface, etc. Where did the fire start? Under the hood or in the interior?

Be thankful he wasn't burned or killed!
 
I have heard of something similar happening to a 2000 Bonneville SSEi. The shop that looked at it said it was something with the air conditioning wiring.

IIRC: it has something to do with the fuel rail on the L67 (same engine in the SSEi and the GTP)

This used to happen to Lincoln Town Cars as well... I'm glad nobody got hurt!
