...next day? The check engine light just turned on and it's a 1999 pontiac grand am se, the car drives fine and smooth, does anyone know what the problem might be for this year and make?
I bought a 2000 Ford Focus and had the same problem on the way home. It turned out to be a hose in the emission system had been inadvertently disconnected. There was an electronic portion of the system that had solenoids in it that are triggered by exhaust or other gases.. I looked up the system on the Internet and figured out which way the hoses were meant to go, and it cured the problem.
