...exhaust.? My uncle puchased the car new in 1975. It's been garage kept since 1976. I recently purchased it from his son. The car is in very nice shape and ALL original (except it's missing the 8 track and has a new cam and lifters). I want to make it purr, but am afraid to change anything since it's unique to have a car that has not been modified. Any thoughts?

i wouldn't worry about changing the exhaust. that is something you can modify to your preference that can always be switched back to stock

Most muffler shops can duplicate the factory exhaust pretty well, if that's what you're after. Don't know that there's an OEM exhaust available, particularly for a vehicle of that age.

I think '75 was the first year for catalytic converters, so that may be a consideration - the legality of removing it if it's not already gone, how 'original' you wish to keep the vehicle, your conscience, the stringence of any required vehicle inspections for your area, etc.

Take your system off carefully and store it. Get in touch with Stainless Works for a nice dual system. It'll be a deep thunder.
