On 91 Sunbird the dash is pulled away partially on drivers side. Not broken, I can see the clips inside but it won’t push back in place and stay. Any help?

Are you saying it warped?

Not warped, just disconnected , like pulled away partially. I can see that it should snap into place with clips that are there, but I can’t get it to stay. I’m afraid I might break something.

Perhaps someone was repairing something

Can I just try to reinsert the cups while pushing? I don’t want to do further damage. I appreciate your help!

Looks like the metal clip is missing on the tab on the door side of the piece, you have to reattach the clip on the tab and push the trim piece back in....the clip should be in the hole where the tab goes into the dash, try pulling the clip out the dash with a screwdriver or needle nose pliers...If the clip is missing, just put a self tapping screw under the vent into the piece and there is more plastic for the screw in to underneath...

Orange circle is clip/ tab..green arrow is maybe screw missing, purple arrow is location if needed.. to put self tapper screw...to hold the piece if all else fails...
