I have tried everyting to find out why I have a 1963 service replacement 389
dated 1967 it is a belhousing mounted starter has 2 freeze plugs and a transfer lug . it has quadrajet style intake 9770274 and large water pump'
block casting is 543680 with 1963 heads.
I went to put my stick shift flyweel on it and it has a slug in the pilot bearng hole with numbers on it anyone can tell what this means thanks,

Cannt you drill out the slug and install the pilot bearing?
