Main cap bearing bolts

I am unaware of any supplier.
I assume you dont want to reuse the old ones.

Yes , the factory ones are "Torque to Yield " bolts but these ARP Opel studs are supposed to be the same...?

Ok thank you I didn’t know they where supposed to be torque to yield the repairs manual I have said torque them to 70 foot pounds

They are throw away bolts aka "torque to yield " and require new ones, but in old JBody forum posts , if your engine isn't turbo , they " should " be fine to reuse.

Not sure if that is correct....

So since I’m not torquing them to the right spec should I use thread locker

Why arent you using the correct torque?
How are you calculating a different number?

The guy in England or Australia that still builds these engines just told me to replace them .( Rod and Main Bolts)

He said ARP's are reusable if within spec .... stretch guage.

You could just size them up at a local bolt store and get them there. As as long as they are the same hardness , size and length.

The Cadillac guys do it since you can't buy them new anymore other than ARP which are expensive.
