I just purchased a 2006 torrent and engine light came on, the code is p0446. evap emmision control system vent circuit malfunction.

I am also experiencing bad gas mileage and a slight sputter when starting the vehicle for a very breif moment. Can this all be do the the error I am getting and what would be the resolution?
 
check the gas cap some times it doent seal u could need a new one that were u are getting the emisson code from try it that the cheap way out it may work

I would suggest that you take your vehicle into your local Certified Pontiac Service Center and have them look into this for you. They are in the best position to get your vehicle properly diagnosed for you. P0446 code on 2006 Torrent

It was the vent valve and it was replaced.

The Code came back again after repalcing the vent valve and now they replace fuel pressure sensor. Hope this is it and it fixes my gas mileage problem. Will a fuel pressure sensor affect gas mileage?
 
I do not believe it would have any impact on gas mileage. What mileage are you getting, on average would expect 18 to 19 mpg.
 
I just figured out and I am getting 18mpg.
