milage

I worked on my engine while it was on an engine stand. I can only imagine it would be very hard to replace the oil pan gasket with the engine still in the car. Like Melsg5 said, you'd have to disconnect the motor mounts at the very least.

Well I got a surprise today , I've been searching all day actually yesterday too online thankfully for a transmission filter and gasket kit For the LaMans, as it turns out I don't have a powerglide transmission in my car it's a super turbo 300 ST 300. I finally found a place online called Ames Pontiac that had the right parts. I bought two! I was thinking about starting a new thread about this transmission it's still a two speed but there are two styles of powerglide transmission filters and pan gaskets, neither of these were what I took out my car.
Has anyone had any experience with this transmission, my research shows me they were only in Pontiac, Buick, and Oldsmobile cars.
Thanks to everyone for their replies, this is going to be fun!I hope!

Same outside dimenions as the Chevy Powerglide, but nothing else is the same.

Not a performance trans by any means, not even a shift kit made for it..:(

Just a daily driver to the store type of trans.....................

Not without an Chevy to BOP adapter or a Multi fit bellhousing ( Ultrabell add on bellhousing- cut the old bellhousing off bolt the new one to the front pump)

Well I guess I just have to take care of this old transmission.

A PG, No, but a BOP T-350 3 speed trans is almost a Bolt in Transmission, drive shaft will work, crossmember will work, you only have to hook up the Kick down cable the T-350 requires. That is the way I would go if the ST-300 went out on my car, or if $$$ allows a 200R4 Overdrive.

thanks Jeff for the good info.
