Mirrors

Before I begin trying myself for what isn't in the Haynes manual that I have, does anyone know how to remove the mirrors and wiring on a 85 GT notch back ? I love this car and have basic ideas for it to make it gorgeous. It is gonna get re-painted, the same color white again, but I want to remove the black mirror shells and take them to a local powder finishing shop and do them up white also. They are fully electric mirrors, I just don't want to wreck anything while trying to make this car more awesome.

Remove the inside door panel and remove the two 10mm nuts holding the mirror to the door. If it is a power mirror the wiring can be disconnected at the connector inside the door. If it is the cable controlled mirror, You need to loosen the small allen set screw on the control and slide the cable out.
