Earlier today I was just inspecting my car, and while looking underneath the seat, I spotted what appeared to be a tag. It then occurred to me that it could possibly be a hidden build sheet. I gave a few very gentle tugs, and it began to come loose. After I got it out, I took a picture of it comparing it to a more pristine copy of the sheet that had been kept by the first owner folded in the glove compartment. I had began to realize that both of the sheets are missing some substantial information, such as engine and transmission numbers, and the one I'm really interested in is "DATE PRODUCED." I was wondering: is this a common problem with these things?uploadfromtaptalk1405222910521.jpguploadfromtaptalk1405222917470.jpg Is there a way to identify the date? I looked up the date underneath "SCHEDULED NO. DATE" which was "2-19" (I assumed was Feb. 19th). In 1972, this was a Saturday, and to my knowledge, cars aren't built on weekends (feel free to set me straight on that).

I finally had the chance of looking under the hood to snap a picture of the trim tag to get the MMW number uploadfromtaptalk1405304170456.jpg
After reading through some of the articles of that link (thank you for that, Doug in P.R.[emoji41], I greatly appreciate it!) I've determined that the car was built during the 4th week of February. However, this contradicts the "SCHED. NO. DATE" of 02-19 on the build sheets, as the 19th was the end of the third week (21st was Monday). I remember seeing posts about using up the tags of the previous week, but not the reverse. Am I missing something here?

Is it possible that they stamped the plate for 02D, but started assembly on the end of 02C (Saturday, 19th) according to "SCHED. NO. DATE"? That also makes me wonder, is it a possibility that the Doraville workers ahead in assembling their cars, and that assembly on my car began on 02-19 instead of 02-21? Maybe I should look into this " SCHED. NO. DATE" a little deeper!

In case it helps, here's a picture of my VIN:uploadfromtaptalk1405311367392.jpg(2L69R2D345503 [Sorry it's blurry, it's the only picture I have of it.])

You have to remember, back then there were alot of strikes and alot of the workers didnt show up for work , ( sometimes missing multiple days a week -younger guys) so assemblly times were running behind and so were the time when the bodies from Fisher werent ready to meet the frame and drivetrain.

You are very lucky just to have the correct build sheet, most hit the trash or were stuck in other cars. And also not to have a sabotaged car too like from the Lordstown plant.

Owning this car has taught me so many interesting things about how things were back then! Now that you mention it, I'm feeling pretty fortunate to have all of the documents I do have with the car! So, eliminating the 02-19 "SCHED. NO. DATE," with assembly being started on 02-21 (02D), and the process taking about three and a half days (Fisher Body process: 2 days; Body Bank: 1 1/2 days) is the 24th ikely to be the day my car was finished?

I dont know if a PHS report will verify it so its safe to come to that conclusion for now.................

I was looking at the documents included with my car's purchase (the ones I've been intending to show for a while now) and I saw the date of this dealership inspection:ImageUploadedByTapatalk1428092519.964110.jpg Does anyone have any idea how long the time would have been between final production and delivery?

I cannt imagine more than 2 weeks
