Im out doing a tune up on my 2000 grand am and I decide to clean my iac and egr to fix my rough idle. I go to find the egr, and lo and behold theres nothing but holes and remnants of an ancient gasket. I was given the car not too long ago, so I have no Idea how long its been missing. What's the deal with that? Could there be any reason someone would just remove it?

The good news is; the replacement parts are relatively inexpensive and easy to get.

The old ones may have just deteriorated away, unnoticed from inattention or neglect? I can't think of any reason someone would remove them on purpose and not plug the openings.

Ive looked up egr valves. The ones for the 6cyl are around $40, but the ones for the 4cyl are like $100 more. You know anywhere I could get a better deal?

I have checked rock auto, napa, and autozone, none of them carry a EGR for the 2.4, where are you finding it?

My local part store ordered it for me, but it doesn't fit. Looks like i'm just gonna have to crawl back to the dealer, which grinds my gears.
