I have an 05 Montana w U/63 Wa817K Sport Red Metallic body and the grey bottom cladding / wheel mouldings and bumper covers but cannot find the GM factory color code. I've pulled Color charts / accent and bumper charts etc.. but no luck. The original build sheet is not in the usual places which would have had it and the sticker on the drivers door is faded to white. I know there were only two bottom colors/ Lt Taupe metallic and Charcoal metallic but I need the factory code to order the correct paint. Edmunds and others who listed colors in their buyer guides only list the bottom color as Charcoal metallic... geeze Louise how many are there in GM's line up ... Paint is too expensive now days to order on a " maybe that's it" .... the only code on their accent sheet is Stealth gray and I'm positive that's not right . Help me anyone ??? Please ....

Are you painting the complete vehicle that has the grey ?

Have it scanned at a automotive paint supplier

Thanks, the suppliers I've been dealing with ask for the color code. They're happy to mix and sell me paint (they mixed the sport red metallic) but haven't been able to give me a definite choice on the lower. I haven't tried actually going to a Paint shop to see if they can match it by scanning. I figure it's more than likely out of my budget ... it is after all an 18 yr old Van. But it was owned by my father who passed in 2014 and I'm trying to do it justice.

If they are able to mix your red why can't they scan the grey? Did you ask them?

They mixed the red because I have the color code u63 wa817k .... sport red metallic (in original post)... and I ordered the paint from out of state supplier (cheapest/matched perfectly)) ... the tech they have now days they take pic/scan of color and feed it in computer... gives formula for mixing paint ... not perfect and may have to be adjusted which equals time/materials = money .... which is why I'm seeking the original color code to mix easy peasy ... I am totally amazed that most of the people I've communicated w the last few weeks don't even know what a factory build sheet is or that they probably have one under their drivers seat tucked between springs and cushion.... they are gold in the classic car world for original provenance .... thanks for trying to assist but no helping info just bridges I've already crossed .... Have sent an email to gmsocial.com to see if they can access the inf I need from data base ... thanks again sir !

Since you are doing only certain areas any formula for the original color will not match the existing color due to age. A local supplier does not charge extra for scanning your paint.
