i like the look and everything but i want a car that has some muscle to it (if you now what i mean) but if i put extra parts on it i mite get terrible gas mileage and for a first car thats not good what are your thoughts on it?

I had a 1970 Camaro . V8 small block and like 16-20 miles per gallon.
Was a hot car but gas was 43 cents per gallon then
I would pass on this.

Well you could look into more modern muscle cars with a 6 speed manual that can get 25-28 mpg highway. Such as 93-97 camaro/trans-am with lt1, or if you can afford it look into 98-02 camaro/trans-am with the ls1. Or even a corvette.

The fuel injected models tend to get better mileage than the carb versions, if mileage is an issue I would stay away from the older carbed cars ..
in the 85 model years you could get a fuel injected 305 that had some zip to it and could still get 20+ MPG..if driven decently.

you have to keep in mind any V/8 is going to NOT be great at fuel mileage so injection will be the only way to make up for it , like said above some of the newer 93+ cars can get 20-25+ MPG easily with a LT1 V/8 and some can be had for good prices ..
