I have a 99 sunfire GT with a 2.4 and it started running rough had it scanned and said multiple cylinder misfire. I put in new plugs and it did not change anything. What would be my next step?

Did you try googling the code the scan showed? You could have bad coils or a vacuum leak. Do you know the code?

codes

po300 was code that came up tried to start it today and acted like it didnt want to also coughed up through intake

Do you people ever do anything for anybody?

This site sucks!! Got very little help and for some reason the main man has to add his two cents worth and he has not a clue. Looked at other threads and not alot of help there either, thanks for nothing idiots

misfire

Chances are good it is the coil tower. This is a known problem on the 2.4 engine.

Seems like you want people to magically reach through the internet and fix your car. You have to do the work. You were given a link with the possible causes. Did you even try going through the list to narrow down the cause?

That complaint from Sunfire24 was not well founded, this forum has helped me tremendously. Anytime someone even tries to help it should be appreciated. I have a misfire problem and now I know where to start.

Thanks!

Insulting people on this forum will definatly not get your anywhere , perhaps you should reconsider your attuide . PO300 is a hard code to diag over the net with out seeing the car is almost impossible. Sounds like you expect Miracles. You were given a good place to start with the coil tower housing and respond like this ?

Wow! That is truly unbelievable. It isn't hard spotting the true idiot.

Just wondering, which one of you guys is the "main man" here?

well for anyone else except that sunfire24 guy, I had the misfire problem also, kept giving me a po300 code, what I found out was with the ethenal gas it causes the valves to carbon up, the springs are soft and cannot knock it loose, took it in to have the system cleaned and the crankshaft sensor re-trained and all is good, as i said this info is for the people who like to help out other people, not that Ahole sunfire24 guy........:D:D:D

I agree..very hard to figure out what is causing a p0300...all you can do is pretty much start on one sysem and work you way through it and move on to the next system....So chill bud! it take time and effort..I hope you find out whats wrong..
