MY 1969 Firebird wont start!!!?

Well my firebird was running fine but I changed the water pump. Connected the battery and tightened the alternator after installing the waterpump and the car wont start. The lights go on and the lights are not dim. What can it be?

you must have disconnected something else. Do you mean the starter is engaging but the engine wont start or the starter does nothing?
