...the reason? I like my car. But she is giving me major headaches these days.

It is a 1996 Firebird. 3.8 Liter V6 engine. Auto tranny. 140K miles.

I just had major tune-up work done- new ignition module, new coils, new plugs, wires, etc.

I live in Georgia. It was rather cold this morning- around 25 or 27 degrees, I believe. Could this be the reason for my car not starting?

The battery was evidently working. The radio came on. The dash lit up. When I turned the key, it made a repetitive clicking sound. But it would not turn over.

Could the cold weather be the cause? Or may this be something more serious?

Why won't a car start when it is very cold outside? I mean, is there something common that occurs with many vehicles in cold weather?

Thanks for your help.

PS- the service engine soon light is coming on. It has been doing so for over a year now. My mechanic said that it may do this due to the oxygen sensor. ? It did not come on until yesterday, after being off for a month.

your battery had enough juice to turn on your electronics, not enough to turn over the motor... yes because of the cold... plug it in, or get someone to boost you...
