my 1999 pontiac grand am has new tires but still makes a humming nose

like tire noise, what could it be? the tires were put on because they were needed and thought that is what the noise was from..i just bought it....the front right tire, where the noise was coming from was more bald then the other tires, if that means anything that could be wrong...it drives good and is aligned..and has proper balance and weights on the tires

I would take a look at the wheel bearings and/or the CV joint at that wheel. I'm guessing wheel bearings...

^ +1 on the wheel bearings or CV joint. My experience is that CV joints will tend to 'click' rather than 'hum'.

Another thing to check to cover the bases is the ball joints or other worn components that may allow the tire to not be positioned at its design angles.
