some times my grand am se wont start and has a security light on....then i have to wait 15 mins for it to start again..why is it doing this? and how do i fix it?

turn key to on position (not start), let it sit for 15 minutes, then turn off and on again. This is a result of the key cylinder not recognising the key properly, and activating the VATS IV passkey system in the car. This can be from a work down key, worn down key cylinder, or a lot of weight on your key ring the forced the key cylinder to not line up properly.
