i am currently working on combining a 86 GT with my 84 notch, i am taking the engine out of the 86 and putting it in the 84, i am going to scrap the 86 once i get the working parts out of it and i was wondering what body panels from the 86 would fit on my 84 if any and i am considering painting the car and i would like people to post photos of their fiero so i can get an idea of what the make mine and reply of what all will work. thanks

All body panels will swap over with no problems. The roof and hood do not need to be swapped as they are the same unless you are swapping a sunroofed roof to a non-sunroof roof. If you do not have to swap roofs the better. the A pillar section is very delicate and can crack easily during removal.

The problem is the engine swap. 1984 is the only year where the engine wiring harness routing is different. They are routed differently from 1985 thru 1988 because of the V6. In 1984 the harness goes into the interior to attach to the computer that the V6 exhaust manifold will rub against. Some cutting and rerouting is required. Also use the 1986 cradle if possible. There is a small shock absorber on the forward side of the engine for the V6, on 1984 cradles there is no mounting holes.

okay sounds good thanks for helping...i am still looking for ideas on paint jobs if people would share photos thatd be great! im considering racing stripes but thats not a permanent idea

If you still want pics of various colors on Fieros, go to http://www.fierostore.com/ and see the slideshow of various paintjobs right on their front page.

The 84 is quite rare, I wouldn't change anything you don't have to. 86 I'd be carefree with.
