I have a 93 Pontiac Grand Am with 210000 kms, its the 2.3lts 4 cyl. I have a problem, where sometimes, not all the times, when I want to start the engine, it wouldnt start, all the electronics, lights, radio turn on, but but I turn the key to the third position to ignite, absolutely nothing happens, not a noise not anything, just like if there was no battery; so I proceed to use jump cables and car starts right away. Thinking that it was a battery problem, I got a brand new battery, but the problem was not solved, even though with the brand new battery, sometimes the car doesnt starts, but I plug the jump cables with the new battery, it starts right away. Im not a mechanic so I was wondering if someone could give an idea of what the problem could be so I can take it to the right place to fix it. Also another problem is when im driving at high speed, around 80-100kms/h and i come to a sudden stop (e.g a red light) the car when it reaches around 40-30 kms/hr starts to shake and turns off, then I put it on N (neutral) to start it, it starts normally with no problem, but as soon as i put it on D (drive) it turns off, so I have to accelerate a bit while is in neutral and then pass it to D suddenly like making a burnout in order to start moving and avoid the car to turn off. Why is it doing that?, I changed the oil around 2000kms ago as well as the spark plugs. Thanks for your time.
