my firebird had a blown head gasket so we replaced it. now a few months later...

Could be irritants left over form from previous blown gasket. Sometimes the spectrum clamps around the main shaft can become loose.
Try tweeking the nodulater then rev up the engine and see if you can clear out any old liquid/irritants.
 
how is the car being operated. if for short trips only, possible that it never gets hot enough to cook the water off. has the coolant level in the reservoir been dropping - a bad sign if you don't have puddles on the driveway.
