Hello everyone,

Having just purchased a Mint body 1985 Fiero GT 2.8L with 186xxx KMs and spending much of the weekend changing a exploded fuel filter, flat tire, oil change W/filter, fix broken coolant rez and front radiator mounts. The car seems to be running great!

The instrument bulbs, specifically the RPM and Speed gauge bulbs, are burnt out. was wounder is it easy to get at the little dudes? I already picks up a few bulbs (#161 and #194). Also After taking her out for a quick spin to the store tonight i noticed the car idling at a constant 1500 while in neutral or clutch disengaded. Any ideas on what could cause this problem? I expecting bad fuel economy : / so would love to tackle this problem after work tomarrow. Thanks for any response before hand! :}

Best regards,

Kazin

Congrats on getting your Fiero.

As for dash bulbs, on the backside of the dash pod you should see a couple of 7mm bolts. If you remove these the rear cover will come off and the backside of the dash can be accessed. You will see all the dash light sockets. They just twist into place.

As for the high idle, Sounds like you may have a slight vacuum leak. Check the vacuum lines as well as the EGR and EGR tube that goes to the upper plenum. The EGR tube is know to crack over time.

Cool that seems easy to get at those bulbs.

The vaccum hunting will start once this damn snow goes away : ( . Freak snow fall over night!

Anyways I'll let you know what I fine once i start tinkering...
