So I just bought a 1980 T/A and I'm planning on making a strip/street beast out of it. As of right now, the only "scary" points of the car are the bondo floor-pans, and the leaking brake lines 
But, all that aside, I was wanting to know what engine you guys would think would be good for a nice 1/4 mile? I was looking at a Vortech 383, but realised it was fuel injected 
Also been readin alot about the SD455, but they seem few and far between. I've already planned out the trans which is gonna be a TCI Super Street Fighter TH400 with a full manual valvebody. They claim up to 425 N/A HP capabilities. I'm only lookin to spend around 3K for the engine, and am not expereinced in engine building, so a long block would be my choice. I know that really limits things, but any ideas would be cool! thanks
