should I buy? The CTS is one of the best looking cars on the road and is motor trend car of the year. The G8 looks sharp and is the most powerful starting under $30k (it has more power than a BMW 550). HELP!!!

Listen hippie, the CTS gets about 17 in the city and 26 on the highway. The G8 gets about 14 in the city and 25 on the highway. (The G8 also shuts down 4 of the 8 cylinders to operate like a 4-cylinder.) If I am spending above $30K, do you really think I care if gas goes up another nickel? If I gave a damn I would have asked should I buy an Aveo or a Prius. Go screw yourself and answer my question, and not try to talk me out of either one.
Good try. I don't buy Japanese cars, period. They look almost as stupid as the people driving them.
I am not looking to street race, drag race, etc. I am successful, white, early 30's. Thanks.
I don't work for GM, but I get GM Employee pricing. Nothing against Chrysler, just not crazy about anything in their lineup.

Are you joking? I didn't even think people considered these cars. If you want to go fast get a Mitsubishi EVO IX. Horsepower means next to nothing, you need a good hp to weight ratio to go fast and the G8 wont cut it. The EVO gets better gas mileage and will beat the living snot out of the G8 in the quarter and fourth mile. It's about the same price (even cheaper I believe) and is a beastly car. Not to mention it has such advanced traction and stability control you will own any car on the road. It is more comfortable than the G8, too. If you want luxury then the CTS isn't terrible. My grandfathers has been in the shop 3 times since he got it last year, so don't expect amazing reliability. He doesn't drive it hard either, he is past 90 years old. If you want luxury, get an Infinity M45. They are both faster and more reliable (and more comfortable) than the CTS. And if you get a CTS, at least get the CTS-V. But please don't.
Of the two you gave me though, I'd say the G8 is a better bargain.
And if you want to go American get a Chrysler 300c or crossfire. The best part about getting these is that you will only pay 2.99 for premium gas for the next 3 years, which would probably pay for a lot of the car in the long run.
And if you get the G8 (the better deal) then give me a call and I'll show you how much better an EVO is.

Additional:
Then how about the Chrysler?
And check this out:

same engine as your G8, getting beat by a 4 cylinder turbo :o

Additional additional:
Then why not a Chrysler?

Final Additional:
Should have said you were a GM employee in the first place... Get the G8.

We always called those cars "gas guzzlers". In this day of high and higher gas prices, it is sheer folly to buy those cars. The resale value will drop drastically as there will be no market for them. Consider a hybrid or at least a model that gets better mileage.
