Could It Be? My 01 Grand Am is jerking. For the past three months, I've been running on 3 fuel injectors and some bad spark plugs. The car would putter and idle really bad.

Today I, just changed them all out. New injectors and new spark plugs. Now the idle is good and it sounds like a purrrrr. But now when I put my car in drive it jerks. Also, when I'm driving it will jerk into first gear at 2000/3000rpms(automatic, by the way). The following gears only give a slight jerk, hardly noticeable. It's really noticeable when I place it into gear or when I drive within 20mph.

I know it's not a transmission problem, because it didn't jerk at all before I placed in the new fuel injectors and spark plugs.

What could it be?

Did you gap the spark plugs correctly?
Cross spark plug wires by mistake?

Sounds like you procrastinated too long and you didn't do the work properly. I would get it to a reputable repair facility asap and have a professional do the work correctly for you, good luck.

maybe the computer needs a few starts to relearn a new program where all the injectors and plugs work
