My Pontiac Sunfire Revs when I first start it, any help is appreciated?

My car is a 2003 Pontiac Sunfire and when I start it it revs, I'm not sure if this is related but additionally the clock and presets on the radio go back to 12:00 and factory settings pretty frequently, any help is greatly appreciated.

It definitely sounds like an electrical issue. And i can help. GM Tech 15 years. but i need more info that you gave.what exactly do you mean it revs does that mean it has a high Idle? or does it just rev up to a peak point then drop to normal just as quickly. If high idle how long does it last does it do it warm and cold . And the clock and radio. when does it go back? after it sits overnight? or after driving for a while ? you problems sound simple. But for me to be any real help i need more email me kmp1171@att.net
 
The ecm is bad, or power is getting cut off, since clock resets, and when power cuts off even for a second computer resets and when the computer resets, it makes sure it starts by revving high, also check your Mass Air flow sensor, this can also cause this condition
