My side view mirror (driver side) is hanging on my 2001 pontiac grand am, how can I fix

this? What do you think the repair cost will be? Or is it something I do myself?

I don't have a power mirror on my Grand Am so when I brushed the passenger side with the garage last year it popped off cleanly. However, it's not as expensive as you'd think to have fixed.

Go to rockauto.com and order the part - I think you can get it brand new for around $30.00 (not body color - it's black so hopefully you have black mirrors) and they will deliver it right to your door within a couple of days. Then a body shop will probably put it on for about $50.00.

That's how I got the mirror on my Grand Am fixed. :)

Good luck!

the best way is to buy a new one they are cheap and you can install it yourself the cover on the inside where your little speaker is just pops off and there are three nuts remove these unplug the power and replace.

try and find someoe who nos what the hel they are doing

you need to buy a new one or check ebay and invest in a chilton or haynes repair manual $1- $350 . yes you can diy

While this repair is often done by the home mechanic, you must have a basic set of tools and skill to pull it off. If it is a power mirror than it could be a little trickier.
Basically you must remove the inner door panel to get to the mounting for the mirror. On the power mirror there is an electrical connector. The part can be obtained from the dealer or an auto wrecking yard.
