Potiac Firebird? She said that it has been sitting for 7 years now, and she is wanting 3000 for it but wants 500 down so pretty much wants 3500 total for this car. it is red with the bird on the hood. She thinks its too much, she wants to know if it is or how much she should offer her for the car.

"Sitting for seven years"???? Does the thing even run? I think $ 3,000 - 3500 is waaaaayy overpriced (I wouldn't pay more than $ 1,500 and I know how and have the resources to fix it up!); tell her to forget it and find something that runs! Good luck!

Look up the blue book price. If it is in good shape then it could be well worth it. If it has sat for 7 years then it needs a new battery for sure. You will also have to drain and clean all fluid systems. If it had a major problem and that's why it has been sitting then you would have to weigh the worth of the car with the cost of repairs. They are sweet cars when they are in good shape. It also depends on what engine it has in it as to weather it is worth getting it fixed.

Depends on the condition of the car and exactly what it is. If it is a Trans Am and has sat garaged for seven years then it may well be worth the cash so long as it is complete, runs and is not rotted. If it has sat in the elements(outside) then the undercarraige would be a major concern and should be put up on a lift and checked over.
