Hello,
I have owned my 2000 Grand Am since 2002. I have had the worst experiences with this car. I have replaced every major and mostly every minor component on this car at least once. Everything in the dash has been replaced at least once. ABS replaced 2 times. And I was told that it is going bad again. I had 2 transmissions. I am on my 2nd engine. The power window motors. One of my rims is cracked. Tie rods, radiators, window wash fluid container ($80 good gush), water pump. Most recently heater core. I feel like I am missing a couple other small things. The worst car ever. I still have it only because I can't afford another car note. In the summer I don't even drive the damn thing. I ride my motorcycle. And when I can't ride the bike I take public transportation if I'm not in a hurry. I only keep it to get me around in winter time. The worst car ever. When I am able to afford a new one I am going to take it to an empty lot and take a sledge hammer to it. Then some lighter fluid and a match. Never again will I buy a Pontiac. And the maintenance to do anything yourself is horrible. You need to lift the engine for practically anything you want to repair yourself. I've had several mechanics look at me dirty when I brought my car to them. Not the dealership cause their prices are ridiculous. Probably cuz they know the headache this machine is. And the looks aren't in my head. I always speak and get to know the mechanic before or during their time with my car. I had one tell me not to bring my car in cuz of the headache to do the simplest job. I hate this car.

I know not all of them are like this. But I got that one. That special one that got put together on the day everyone was having a bad day.
And to finish off on a bad note...what is up with this forum? There are 65 pages of posts and half have no reply the other third has one reply and the rest has maybe up to four replies??? Except for Zim who's in the three digits, many other folks are in the low very low twin digits. Its a forum. if you go through the trouble of looking at a post through something out there. Even if its not advice but a comment. Something ppl. If not the new members will not return and reciprocate the gestures and knowledge.
