what does the 9 J C stands for in a pontiac firebird rear axle code. those are the first three characters. thanks.

If all else fails, jack up the rear end and mark the driveshaft. Turn a tire one turn and count he revolutions the drive shaft makes. 3.25=3.23 3.5=3.55 etc.
