I just bought an '87 Fiero and the person I bought it from said that the previous owner before him had ripped out the stock stereo and put in an aftermarket one. In doing this, he apparently forgot to replace all the wiring and now the IAC connector wire is lost? I've never worked on an older car before, and my father is going to need some direction when he comes to help me. I was just wondering if there was a schematic/trace that someone could help me with? The IAC connector is on the IAC valve, it's just that the wires are not connected to anything at the other end and I need a bit of help finding them and figuring out where they go. Any help is appreciated, thank you so much!

Thank you, I really appreciate it. I kept trying to find the service manual but never could find it. Thank you again :)

How are the radio and IAC related?

I'm not entirely sure. I was puzzled by this as well, since I've never heard of the IAC hooking into the radio, however I've also never worked on a rear engine car either... Even though I looked at the manual, I am still confused quite a bit. The only thing I have ever worked on was a Subaru, and that was very minimal at best. I'm kind of a noob when it comes to this, but I wanted to see if I could give it a shot before my father came down to help. Alas, I am utterly hopeless and despite about an hour of staring at the engine, and another half hour of staring at the electrical box and radio, I feel even more lost than when I started. I just figured someone might have had the same problem at some point and decided to give it a shot and ask.
