need help!!

I just bought a 2000 grand am se and there wad no relay in it or the horn so i went and bought one when i went to test the horn it still didnt work so i bought a new horn but once i hooked it up it kept going off on its own. But when i pish the horn in for it to go off it stops. Any body that knows anything please help

it sounds like a problem with the horn contact in the steering wheel.

That's what I was thinking as well I'm just trying to figure out how to fix it with out takeing it to a dealer

If you work on the steering wheel you want to be very careful not to mess up the air bag. That will be much more expensive to fix than the horn contact.

How hard is it to remove the airbag?

It's not that difficult but you need to do it right. Get a service manual and follow it's directions.

So I guess my state allows me to put in a separate horn button and as long as the horn works and on the drivers side it will pass inspection.
