Hello, I am posting this thread because I need some advice about Torrents. I am a college student looking to upgrade to an awd vehicle, and I have fallen in love with the torrents through some test drives I have done. As a college student my budget is limited, but the torrent is still in my price range. The current torrents I am looking at are under $10,000, but the mileage is what scares me. Should I even be looking at Torrents that have over 100,000 miles? What mileage do these cars usually have problems at/die at? Is there a certain year I should stay away from? Any input you guys have would really be helpful.

Thanks very much

Since you are looking at high mileage vehicles anything you are considering should have a detailed record of maintenance, oil changes, and transmission service including filter.

Yes, the cars I have looked at do have carfax or autoreports on them. I guess what I'm asking is what is the overall quality of torrents. I plan to have this car for a long time, and it don't want it to crap out on me after I've only had it for a few months. Obviously I know that each car has it's own history and could come with its own set of problems. I was just wondering in general what people have experienced (ie what mileage something went wrong with the car, what mileage the car completely died)... Thanks

My advice to you would be NO! Steer clear of this make and model especially the 2006 model. visit (www.edmunds.com/pontiac/torrent/2006/consumers-reviews.html) and you will understand why I say this. be sure to read all of the reviews before 2006 and then you will understand why you should never purchase this make and model. Also, visit www.pontiacproblems.com Click on Pontiac torrent problems... the data provided on this site will SHOCK you! I own a 2006 torrent and wouldn't sell it to my worst enemy... perhaps my ex husband, but not my worst enemy.
