Need to open 71 firebird trunk no lock

Hi All,
New to the forum, just got my late Brother-in-laws 71 Firebird and hoping to restore it for my wife and his memory. I hope to get a lot of help from the folks on the forum....I need it!
I'm trying to get the trunk lid open there is no lock just the hole for it, thanks in advance for any help that can be offered.

do you see the latching mechanism when you look in the hole? You should be able to insert a flat screwdriver blade and turn

I tried looking earlier today and could'nt see in, went out tonight with a flashlight after reading your reply....now the trunk is opened. I have a pretty large project ahead of me and I'm sure I'll be leaning on you people with knowledge alot. Thanks again.
