I've had a 1978 Trans Am for about 15 years. I flew to Salt Lake City to get it, drove it home, proceeded to take it apart to refurbish it and it's been in pieces ever since. With a busy family I've just not had time to work on it, nor do I see time in the future. It's time to make space in the garage. I have no idea how much to sell it for. I understand its not a lot, but I dont know if I should be thinking $1K, $2k, 5K? Somewhere in between?
Here's the thing. I put a lot of money into it, despite not being operational. Some examples
a. New Firehawk tires on refurbished snowflake wheels (have original wheels too)
b. Completely rebuilt 403 olds which was in the vehicle when I bought it.
c. Tons of replacement parts! starter, water pump, distributor, distributor cap, door panels, armrests, air manifolds, stainless steel bolt set, replacement rubber stoppers kit, headliner, dipstick, stainless steel break lines and fuel lines, smog pump, radiator hoses, fan clutch, hood insulation, etc
d. refurbished radiator & driveshaft
The body is in pretty good shape, though someone before me did some funky work with bondo and spray foam. Some work is definitely needed but nothing crazy.
Not only do I have all the brand-new parts, but I also still have all the old parts of someone is looking for them. I know it is not worth a lot. Though, I'd appreciate some guidance on where to start.
Thanks!
P.S. Yes, I have the fenders, front clip etc. They just are not pictured.
