If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "1995 Trans Am" isn't going to indicate to anybody that you need help. However, "Need help with my 1995 Trans Am" will. Be as descriptive as you can. Please use common sense... grand lee

Hi everyone.

I'm Grand Lee.

I have a 92 Grand Prix, that I'm converting into a General Lee.

I have to replace the gas tank and want to do it myself. Anyone know how I go about doing that.

let me be the first to say welcome to the forum. i hope that you will find a lot of information here. i have been trying to give my advice as long as it is something i know pretty well.

to change a tank is fairly easy. the biggest concern is getting the gas out. taking loose the filler hose from the inlet to the tank shouldn't be too hard. but watch out as the gas comes out. theres a couple straps that hold the tank on. those need to be unbolted and then the tank should just come out. what would help is if you buy a manual from haynes for your car. autozone carries all types manuals for a broad range of almost all cars. check it out.

don't be a stranger in a strange land. do as the locals do, ask questions.
