i just bought a 83 2000 (formerly called J2000) i was wondering if i could swap with a 3300 or a 3800 motor i have a wrecked buick with the pre-series 3800 in it still good and was wondering if it would fit any advise thanks

I suppose it could be done, but you'd be looking at having to swap engine and tranny as well I would bet. Not sure what year model the 3800 is, but you'd have to also have to do some major electrical work to accommodate any engine control electronics that the 3800 needs (wiring harness, ECM, etc.)

the Buick is an 89 Lesabre i would be able to pull all from it motor, trans, and any electrical needed just didnt know if it would fit because it only has the tiny 1.8 in it right now

The J2000 was part of the Sunbird line and never had anything larger than a 4 cylinder from the factory. You would be pretty much on your own trying to get that V6 into the car.

Alot of cutting and measuring is probably required to the swap.Drop the cradle and mock up that way out of the car, thats how the Fiero guys do the V8 swaps.

Hopefully you saved all the cradle engine/trans mounts from the doner car.

Most swap the narrower 60* V6 3400/3500 series motors into first gen JBody cars.
