• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "1995 Trans Am" isn't going to indicate to anybody that you need help. However, "Need help with my 1995 Trans Am" will. Be as descriptive as you can. Please use common sense... Hello from sunny upstate IOWA! I am new to Pontiac after I have done numerous Buicks. Recently came across an estate with a 1960 Ventura that has a 4 speed and 389. How do I tell if the car was born a 4 speed or is a clone? Thanks,

1960 Ventura 4 speed

I tried old car and the chart listed 4 speed as an option with the code painted on the trans case. But, they list no code # for it!?

Have you checked with PHS if they have records that far back?

I found the original owner! He was a real fountain of history on the car. Thanks to all. GS455

Boy are you lucky, great detective work!
