hello every one
I'm new here but not to fiero's i have own 4 of them and 3 being 6cly 2 formula's
i just bought a 84 SE it has a blowen head gasket. as I'm fixing it i want to rebuild the head. i would like to get some roller rockers I'm thinking 1.6,
can i use solid lifters and rods. I'm also wanting to port the manifolds and head. i want to add some power but keep the 4cly i would be happy to get around 115-120 fwhp no whp

thank you for your help and input

True roller rockers require some work as you need to get the rocker arms for a Pontiac 301 and install different studs. If you want Comp Cams sells a roller tipped rocker set specifically for the 2.5L. The roller is only on the valve side of the arm. They are 1/3 the price of true roller rockers and come in 1.52 or 1.65 ratio's. You can als get the performance lifters and heavy duty pushrods from them.

As for porting and polishing the head and intake, that is a great idea. Just the head/intake work alone will get you about 10hp. Also you can deck the head. Decking means they shave aboit .010 of the surface of the head. This bumps the compression up slightly adding in another 8hp. With the 1.65 rockers and all the work you are looking at about a 25hp total gain.

oh yea where would be the best place to buy the roller rockers, rod and lifters
