HI, welcome to Pontiac owners! , to answer your question you will probably have to go to the dealer for a replacement for your key fob , but they can also check to make sure it is the problem , it may just need to be reprogramed ..
as for window tint depending on what your laws are watch the grade of tint certian areas require a set amount of darkness when measured with a testing device .. also I would recomend a pro installer do the work especially with the defroster on the rear window ..
they usually offer some sort of warrenty also which could help if there are issues ..

Thank you goatman for your advance. I will check into that key pad. on the window defroster is that something extra or what?? sorry i am new to all this. also do you have and other suggestions on a 2008 grand prix???

The defroster is a normal option on those cars... Although you may not use it much in Texas, the issue with putting tint over it is the heat created by the defroster when it is on can sometimes deform the tint causing wrinkles or bubbling in the coating ...
most Northern shops are used to that but down there it may Not be as common ..
The only suggestions I can make, would be to give your new car regular maintence.. Oil changes with quality oil and keep the tire pressures up to spec

(I know thats not what you ment) but I really don't know that much about the newer cars as far as "improvements" go ..
I would say the best bet would be to find some other owners in your area and see what they have done to their cars ..
the only other thing I can add is to stay away from the big wheel and tire fads thet seem to be running around today, as a service tech I can say all that does is ruin the wheel bearings and damage the vehicles body when you hit the tires on the body panels ...
Good Luck with the car and enjoy !!!
