Bought this 2002 grand prix for $400, came from Wisconsin I believe , MF in KY - rust everywhere, likely a lot of old wiring also.
first got the car and there are a lot of problems going on - mostly everything seems to work - just some here's and there's that need done and a seemingly lazy prior owner. iv'e spent the last three weeks having my money come in, figuring out what I want/need for the car etc - going and replacing these old rusty parts. replaced two brake lines - blower motor resister / blower motor, tail light bulb, trunk light bulb, removed tail lights to drain water - put them back. what i'm posting about now is that iv'e gotten everything put back that iv'e messed with - turn the key and notice my dash lights, steering wheel illumination, radio illum and climate control lights flash for a brief moment and go out - turn the key to the aux position a few times, no change there - flip the light witch a few times back and fourth - got them to stay on for maybe 10 seconds and they're out - now my DRL doesn't come on and when driver door is open constant fast pace ringing, if I hold the lock button on my fob I get three slower paced rings then back to constant ringing. seeming like I have a bad wiring connection? bad ground wire? not really sure what to make of it - and dread taking it to somebody and paying them $70/hr just to look at it. headlights work via switch but drl do not, not dark enough to see how the automatic lights are functioning.
