no interior lights or rear defrost

I have a 97 grand am gt 3.1. The other night while driving the door locks started locking and unlocking by themselves. After a few seconds it finally stopped and all was well until we stopped and noticed the dome lights along with the rear defrost and door chime are not working. What comes to mind is the bcm, but from some reading ive done people are saying the 97 didn't have a body control module. Is this true and should I be looking for another module. I've checked all fuses and relays and they all checked out good. Any help would be great.

I would start looking at the main fuse box in the engine compartment for any signs of a bad connection or corrosion, you have checked all fuses inside the passenger compartment and engine compartment?

Yes I have checked all fuses inside and out. Its been too cold to get up under dash and glove box. Checking grounds and corrosion will be my next step. Do you know if there is a module that controls those specific items. I was told that if the door chime module goes out on Saturn cars all those items stop working.

Havent heard about the door chime module causing that but it doesnt mean you should rule that out

Just an update. This car has a multifunction alarm module which controls everything inside the car. It does the same as a body control module just not as fancy. Any way, I went to the salvage yard and picked one up and after installing it everything is working like new. By the way no body at the yards ever heard of a multifunction alarm module they just called it a door chime and thought all it did was ding when the door was open.
