Hi there, first post hope it all goes well. I have a 2004 montana 3.4 engine not awd problem started about a week ago, start van and all is good, no mil light, you can drive it or let it idle but as soon as it hits like 2 notches below halfway on the temp gauge it stalls out and cannot restart until it cools off, pulled the front 3 plugs out and none were getting spark, swapped ICM from a venture we have out here and have the original tested at NAPA and problem persisted and the ICM tested good. I have also replaced the crank position sensor and did not help either, plugs and wires are recently changed. Help with this would be awesom, has an appointment with the dealership on wednesday and i would really not like to take it there. Thanks in advance

years past my brother in law had similar problem with his buick ,what it was is the coil pack ,it had 1 single pack that fed all 6 cylinders . Not sure if our montana has 1 or 3 or 6 coil packs ,but perhaps a good place to start good luck and keep us posted.

It has 3 coil packs. Still have not got it to run well see what the dealer says tomorrow unless somebody has idead on what it could be. Started it this morning ran for 5 min and dies temp was like 120 if ne of this helps

well I doubt if all 3 coil packs would be bad idk but once you find out let us know

Got it running it was the CRank sensor on the Back of the motor. Never knew it had 2 crank sensors.
