I recently purchased a 2003 grand am. The drivers side door controls have stopped working (window, locks, etc). I took it to the dealer and they said the computer in the door has stopped working. They said it would be $700 to fix. They said the module needs to be programmed to work in the car. I think I smell something fishy! The drivers side headlight also stopped working both sets. The bulbs are fine. Any ideas on trouble shooting?

I'm not 100% sure, but I don't think it would be in the door, but maybe he was talking about the BCM. If so, you can find them online.
I'm sure someone with more experience will chime in with a suggestion as I haven't done any GM tech work since around '96.

There is no computer in the door, as stated above there is a Body Control Module located elsewhere in the car. Did they actually do diagnosis or they were just guessing? Did you check all the fuses both in the engine compartment and passenger compartment?
