Northstar in Pontiac G8?

Would it be possible to put a Northstar V8 from rear wheel drive Cadillac application (4.4L) into a Pontiac G8?

I have a G8 with a 3.6L V6. Call me crazy, but I love the Northstar and was wondering if this could be done.

Well, sure, with enough money, any engine can go in any vehicle. Things I would be looking at are motor mounts, and tranny bellhousing bolt pattern.

Sell the V6 car and buy a used G8 with the V8 engine.

I'm sorry for this but, I gotta go with melsg5 on this one. Believe me I can totally understand your love for an engine. you want to just shove one in everything. But the over all cost is far freater with far less reward than just finding yourself a low mileage GT or GXP. I'd say for the application that you are looking into the GT would be more than ample.

Along with that, if you put the northstar into your G8 then there would be one less Northstar to shove into Fieros and that would be a serious shame.
