I just changed out my head gaskets in a 2000 Pontiac Montana. The last two or three years I haven't had heat unless I was going 45 or so. Since I changed the head gaskets, I have great heat even at idle.
If you are having heat problem ran a hydrocarbon test that autozone rents out. I believe lack of heat my be signs a head gasket is going out. The pressure builds up and restricts flow up the heater until the water pump rpm overcome it. Just a thought since head gaskets fix my heat.
