Not Starting UNSURE please HELP!!

Hey guys, I am at a loss, I have an 02 Grand Prix. I recently got of the highway to get gas, went to turn the car back on, and it wouldn't start. It wanted to turn over it just sounded like the gas was cut. Finally I wore out the battery trying to start it to many times. Finally towed it to my house. I hooked it up to the jumper cables and it sounded like the starter it would CLANK, CLANK. So I took the starter out and tested it on the battery and it was working properly. I put the starter back in, connected the battery and it started right up. So I was under the impression it was an alarm or some type of electrical sensor or module that needed to be reset and by me having the battery disconnected it did just that.

Mind you its been weeks, and the car started over and over again with out problem. I drove about 60 miles from home at a friends, and it wouldn't start again, We tried everything from turning the key forward waiting 10 min, back ten min, disconnecting the battery, I even went as far as taking the starter out even though I knew it was fine, just trying to retrace my steps from the last time. (STILL NOTHING) Finally we went into the garage and took a gas can, Yes I looked, Yes I smelt, It seemed pure gas. I put that in and used carburetor cleaner and it turned over and started. Now though.. It seems like it has no power it bogs down. It blew out smoke for the first few minutes but that stopped. I got it home and I can start the car, spray the carburetor cleaner and it will allow it to idle fine, but once it drys up or I put it into gear from park it starts bogging down.

I'm not sure what it could be, can anyone suggest me in the right direction and help me. PLEASE I AM VERY FRUSTRATED

have you done a fuel pressure test? how many miles since you changed the fuel filter?
